Giving Back: Building More Than Just Homes at Amps & Volts Electric

At Amps & Volts Electric, our work goes far beyond wiring homes and powering businesses. We believe strongly in giving back to the communities that support us—and one of the most meaningful ways we do that is by helping build homes for families in need.

Through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity - Porter County, our team has had the privilege of contributing to several home-building projects throughout Northwest Indiana. We’ve helped complete homes in Portage and several in Valparaiso, providing full electrical installation for each one. These aren’t just projects to us—they’re opportunities to make a lasting difference in the lives of local families.

A home is more than a structure. It’s safety, stability, and a place where families can grow and thrive. By donating our time, skills, and resources, we’re helping create that foundation for others. Every outlet installed, every light switch wired, and every panel completed represents something bigger—hope, dignity, and a fresh start.

Working alongside Habitat for Humanity also reminds us of the power of community. These homes are built not just by professionals, but by volunteers, future homeowners, and neighbors coming together with a shared purpose. It’s a powerful example of what can happen when people invest in one another.

Being involved in these builds strengthens our own team as well. It reinforces the importance of using our skills to serve others and reminds us why we do what we do. There’s something incredibly meaningful about stepping back at the end of a project and knowing you helped make homeownership possible for a family.

At Amps & Volts Electric, we’re proud to be part of a community that shows up, lends a hand, and builds something bigger than itself. Giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s part of who we are.

We look forward to continuing this work and finding new ways to serve the communities we call home.
